In the article “Phase II Trial of Subcutaneous Amifostine in Patients Undergoing Radiation Therapy for Head and Neck Cancer” [Semin Oncol 29(suppl 19):80-83, 2002], the first complete paragraph of the second column on page 83 references two trials. In both cases the names of the investigators and the studies are incorrect. This paragraph should read as follows:

“With regard to mucosal toxicity, the randomized phase II trial reported by Koukourakis et al³ showed significant decreases with SC amifostine versus no amifostine with radiation for head and neck and other cancers. However, no marked differences were observed in rates of mucositis between SC or IV amifostine and the no-amifostine group in the analysis of our phase II trial in head and neck cancer and the phase III trial treatment arms reported by Brizel et al.¹ It may be that a higher dose of amifostine is needed in this setting.

In the article “Yttrium 90 Ibritumomab Tiuxetan Radioimmunotherapy for Relapsed of Refractory Low-Grade Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma” [Semin Oncol 29(suppl 2):87-92, 2002], the last name of the seventh author is misspelled. The correct name should read as follows: Christos Emmanouilides.
